With vivid storytelling, vibrant musicianship and arresting honesty, Asheville NC’s Anya Hinkle & Tellico explore the beauty of songcraft through the lens of the Appalachian stringband tradition. Tellico features the singing and songwriting of Anya Hinkle, originally from the mountains of Virginia, steeped in the tones of bluegrass and seasoned by travels across the world, and includes Julian Pinelli (fiddle), Thomas Cassell (mandolin), Bill Cardine (dobro), Evan Winsor and Johnny Calamari (bass).

2019 highlights include tours in France and Japan and performances at MerleFest, La Roche Bluegrass Festival, Albino Skunk, and the North Carolina Folk Festival. Hinkle won the Merlefest Chris Austin Songwriting Competition and was a finalist in the Hazel Dickens Song Contest; Tellico’s album Woven Waters, produced by Irish guitar legend John Doyle (Transatlantic Sessions, Tim O’Brien) and out on Organic Records, had a #1 single, #1 band and #2 album ranking on the Folk DJ charts in November 2018.
