OPEN DANCE. Lakota John Locklear is a prodigious blues guitarist and native of Robeson County, North Carolina. A descendant of Lumbee and Lakota tribes, Locklear carries on the traditional sounds of acoustic Piedmont blues, electric blues guitar styles, and preserves his own heritage with songs from the Native American flute. In 2015 he was a Native American Music Awards nominee.

The Fourth Annual Shout & Shine: A Celebration of Diversity in Bluegrass will take place all day Friday, September 27, in the Wide Open StreetFest Dance Tent, celebrating music and dance by underrepresented and marginalized artists, musicians, and performers who love bluegrass, old-time, and roots music.
