Since Danny’s father, Southern Grass founder Bob Paisley, passed away in 2004, Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass have made their own niche in the bluegrass world. Their album “The Room Over Mine” earned accolades and significant chart action, with the song “Don’t Throw Mama’s Flowers Away” winning IBMA’s 2009 Song of the Year Award. Paisley won IBMA’s 2016 Male Vocalist of the Year Award, to go with other nominations over the years for Emerging Artist of The Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year.
