Lorraine Jordan, who plays mandolin and sings lead and harmony, has been fronting Carolina Road for more than 20 years, during which time she has won two IBMA awards for recorded events of the year (2009 and 2011) as well as the 2015 SPBGMA Entertainer of the Year and Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year awards. She was also nominated for the 2015 Carolina Music Awards in the Bluegrass Americana category. Jordan is a co-founder of The Daughters of Bluegrass and an original member. Their “Back to the Well” album won IBMA’s recorded event in 2006, and she was part of the Daughter’s latest album, “Bluegrass Bouquet,” also a 2009 IBMA recorded event of the year winner for the song “Proud to be a Daughter.” Jordan’s charisma during her emcee work onstage gives Carolina Road a great connection with the audience.
